Meet The Team
Maintaining a house is a constant chore, but it doesn’t have to be a hassle. We’re Thomas Hester and Phon Truong, the local owners of TruBlue of Gastonia, and we opened this business because we saw an opportunity to help people here in the Gastonia area by providing full-service house care. We want to help people and give them their weekends back.
TruBlue is a full-service company that provides handyman, house cleaning, emergency repairs, yard/lawn care and seasonal services that are perfect for busy families, seniors and anyone who want the comforts of their own home without worrying about critical property maintenance. At TruBlue of Gastonia, our dedicated House Care Managers serve people in Gastonia serves Belmont, Charlotte, Cramerton, Gastonia, Lowell, McAdenville, Mount Holly, Steele Creek and the surrounding areas. TruBlue is a locally-owned and operated company, but we are backed by an experienced, national franchise, and we pride ourselves on professionalism.
To assist those with ongoing home care needs or who want to take property management off their plates entirely, we offer a monthly House Care Plus program, which enables our clients to hire TruBlue to provide regular, monthly maintenance. We also works with homeowners, realtors and rental property owners who need to quickly get homes move-in ready and keep them maintained and we have commercial services for business clients.
TruBlue is unique because, as a national franchise, we are committed to providing excellent customer experiences through one-on-one service and attention. When you get a quote from us, it’s clear, you know what you’re paying for and it’s not a high-pressure situation. We would love to help you with whatever you need, but we aren’t there to sell you on a service. We want to give you the information you need to make the right decision for your family and we want you to be comfortable with us so you’ll call us again next time. That experience is what makes us unique.
I am a disabled veteran – I served in the United States Navy and worked in intelligence. While I was growing up, I had two major career influences: my dad was a business manager and my stepdad was a contractor and home builder. When I was in my 20s, I saw the need for a company like TruBlue, but I didn’t have the expertise or support I needed at that time. After I retired from business management, I realized I was ready to give that idea another shot, but this time with the support and structure of the TruBlue franchise. This is what I’ve always wanted to do and I’m excited to be able to serve my community as TruBlue of Gastonia.
I came to America in 1983, moved to Gastonia in 1990 and graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a bachelor’s degree in business management. I joined the United States Navy and served as a Recruiter for three years and then worked as a Deputy Disbursing Officer. I was deployed to the Mediterranean twice. I left the service in 2005 and joined the Navy Reserves in 2006, where I worked as a Builder with the Civil Engineering and Building Unit until I retired from the service. I am fluent in Vietnamese and Khmer, a language primarily spoken in Cambodia. Thomas and I both believe in doing what’s right and we are here to guide people toward the best decision for their individual situation – we aren’t here to just sell services. We are both passionate about helping people and we’re excited to take that to the next level through TruBlue of Gastonia.
